The trio-turned-duo labels a whole spectrum of artists, producers, and musical acts as musical inspiration spanning wide across the worlds multi-subgenre-generated hip hop scene. Chump Service is an independant hip hop group from Sturgeon Bay (Door County) Wisconsin. Members include Space Kase (aka Jester Exodus) and MC N-V. Originally, the two were along side a third member of the party, known as ‘Skills’, who after the completion of the third album, is no longer a part of the group.
Chump Service is all original material, they write their own lyrics and make all their own beats to produce a final project out of an in home studio labelled ‘2face Media’. After being together for almost three years, they have put together three full length albums covering various topics such as politics, religion, lyricism, personal experiences, sex, lesbians, drugs, music, more drugs, society, personality, door county, life, love, more sex, drinking, bullshit, stupid people, outer space, storytelling, and alot more that i probably can’t explain without being put under federal surveillance. They don’t rap about money they don’t have, don’t rap about the hood that they are not from, or the cars that they do not drive. In a world of shitty music with a false facade, Chump Service definitely keeps it real.
The mesh of hip hop styles and lyrical contribution that is Chump Service helps set them apart from other acts. Space Kase’s vocabulary is extensive and plays it well with a unique voice to match his topic matter. Some of his verses include very random phrases and lyrical compounds, while throwing in story lines of intergalactic warfare and fantasy-style occurrences. When writing his first track (‘Don’t give a Fuck’) back in the 2003/2004 timeline, the concept of Chump Service spawned, and his dream for 2face Media began, deeming him as Space Kase the 2 Face Guerilla (or 2 Faced Gorilla), among a few other titles.
Meanwhile, MC N-V maintains a more up front style, inspired by battle rappers and staying true to the deep-rooted lyrical style that runs through the underground hip hop scene today. Bluntly spitting in the face of weaker breeds of emcees he tends to talk up his style but with a clever, witty, and brilliant approach. With an undefinable presence, it is guaranteed that MC N-V will storm through the massives, crushing opposition to keep his ego called ‘The Beast’ fed, while holding up those who stay beside him and the family on a pedestal of respect and song as he does in various Chump Service tracks (i.e. ‘Infinite’, ‘Elevators’).
Skills’ lyrical content and personal demeanor labelled him ‘The Villain’ among his partners in rhyme, and the term fits his style. From one song talkin about cartoon corruption (‘Sick Individual’) to another song talkin about his untouchable rank as a lyrical genius (‘Can’t Fuck Wit Skills’), Skills’ [sick] individual flow and presence as an emcee fit the group to a ‘T’!
It is highly recommended that you listen to the lyrics and give your brain time to soak up whatever is being talked about.
